I don't know how accurate that temperature guage would be, with air moving by it all the time.

Depends if you are going for look or function. If you have a window, other lights and such, then it may be a nice addition. However, for the price, it won't move a whole lot of air, and it's going to be noisier than most other fans that would go that speed.
