Hi there,

Is there any particular place the res has to go in a loop, or can you put it anywhere, i.e. before or after the pump, the rad, whatever??

Cheers,
rdm

Technically, you're right. But I, and many others, would recommend that you put it before the inlet to the pump. That makes bleeding the system a heck of a lot easier.

Thought so - just needed someone to confirm it.

Thank you,

Striker85 nailed it.

I'd like to add that it stands to reason to have the res as the highest point in the loop. It is the res's job to remove errant bubbles, and by being at the highest point, it is allowing air's tendency to rise in water to go unhindered. However, having it feed the pump is probably way more vital.
Some would argue that shorter tubing is more important than res height, also.
