Audio tracks all out of whack.

I was watching this show, and then suddenly the speech track went kaputt. The background music and sound effects are still there, but I can't hear the dialogues. It first happened in VLC, and when I tried the file with WMP and DivX also, it happened. And when I checked out the other files from the same series... same thing happened... Could someone please enlighten me?
