I personaly did not do any oc'ing to this machine but my 940 3.2 ghz says the core speed is 3367.6 and the temp is idling at 51 c. any input is greatly appreciated. and what should my stock core speed be? THANX

Where are you reading this? Try running cpu-z, what's it say there? What's the FSB running at? What motherboard are you running?

The measured speed might not be exactly 3200mhz, but 3367mhz seems a bit off. Either the program is reading it wrong, or something is changing the FSB.

I was wondering if he was making toast too.

2.672 volts = 1.172 more volts than most people's max air volts.

So tell us how is the chip surviving on those volts, and what type of wicked vcore volt mod did you do to get those volts?

The stock FSB on the 940 should be 800mhz. Something is causing it to rise. Check your bios, reset it if need be. Are you running any overclocking utilities in windows? They will sometimes automatically overclock you system.

2.7v wouldn't work, period. He probably has an older CPU-Z version which is doubling the voltage? Ive seen this on the Yonah / Merom. Just lower the FSB back to 200 if the option is available.

CPU-Z likes to double the voltage on Asus P5WD2 boards.

It's a 5% overclock. Maybe the AIboost thingy is set to automatic or something.

Personally I'd just leave it.

I've seen it on both P5WD2-Premiums and P5WD2-Es.

I just downloaded 1.33.1 and it still does it (reports the voltage as double) on my -Premium.
