I don't understand, I have been overclocking awhile but this situation has me at a loss. First the background - DFI 875p-t motherboard, 3.8ghz 670, 2 gig of Mushkin HP3200, Antec Truecontrol 550 ps, watercooled CPU via Storm.
I have been attempting to find what I can run the CPU stable at and I am having spontaneous reboots during the S&M stress testing. The memory is running at less than 200 mhz and it has been tested with memtest86+. I have monitored the 12v and 5v rails with my Fluke 89series meter and the 12v rail voltage never goes below 12.2v ever. My last attempt with running the CPU at 240 I set the vcore to 1.55v and began S&M. A few hours into it and the PC rebooted. The temperatures at this vcore are maximum of 53-54c. I live in Arizona with the ambient 77-79 farenheit. Pump is D5, BIE2 radiator with push-pull Delta fans. Odd thing is that the last stress tests the pc was beeping at me and the USB keyboard/mouse and display weren't responding. I then lowered it to 237 with no luck the PC rebooted itself within 4 hours. At 232 dual session prime95 the test ran without a hitch for 8 hours while sleeping last night.
Can any of you suggest what I can do to get the CPU to +4.5g?
I do have a lot on power supply but like I said I have not recorded a drop below 12v yet.
I have 5 7200 rpm drives, 1 cd writer, 1 dvd writer, PLED display, 2 amp draw from water pump, 6 120mm fans, 3ware raid controller, E-mu 404 audio card, PCI integrated audio and three USB devices.
