A Guru3D member purchased a new alienware computer with quad SLI () and he got 87.03 drivers with it. He was having serious problems wiht the driver and asked Alienware to send him a working driver. They refused to and nVidia and Alienware said the drivers will not be released to the public. He got angry and decided to leak these drivers for the rest of us.
Another member from Guru3D modified the .inf so the driver will be installable on non-quad SLI setups, so the rest of us can have some fun with these drivers.
Several dual core users have reported 20-30% increase in games. That's good enough news for me to give the driver a try!

There is a "threaded optimization" option or something in the nVidia Performance & Settings control panel below the LOD clamp setting.
Is anyone here experiancing increased performance with these drivers while using a dual core CPU?
I'll report my findings tonight.

Interesting, i'm downloading them now but I'll wait and see if they are worth installing.

I had small gains, if any.

Well well...I saw a 10-20FPS increase in Condemned and maybe a 10-15 FPS increase in FEAR. I'm very pleased with the results and I'm not looking back on other drivers at the moment. :D

Really? I hope they help me in GRAW then (FEAR engine, i think)

Mainly these drivers are for multi-GPUs and dual core processors. The biggest performance increas is from the dual core optimization that is added to the basket.
saweeet..mebbe this'll add those few extra fpw's to tomb raider to make it butta smooth at all times

hmm wish i could say the same as most of you at 540/840 with cpu at 2.6 with the 84.43 i get 5462 with the 87.25 drivers i get 4910 that just doesnt seem right. i dont have any of those dual core patchs installed, could that be the problem? if so can someone show me where to get them

shouldn't be a problem, but it could be.
I don't go off benchmark scores anymore since gameplay is usually sluggish even though you get high scores. I actually play the games and then do the benchmarking. You can get nice 3DMark scores, but is your actual performance actually comparable?

Dunno about you guys, but these aren't "all that", at leats not for me, i got a 2fps gain in css stress test, havent checked 3dmark 05 or 06 yet, but it also dropped my aquamark gfx score from 10,974(69.98fps) to 10,905(69.94fps), well within margin of error tho. Cantr argue with the 2fps gain in source tho :P, ran test 3 times, and averages out to a 2.17fps gain.

As I've stated. It's more of an optimized driver for dual core systems using multi GPU setups.

I ended up with about +5 fps in GRAW after installing and setting the thread optimization on. Fairly satisfied, as any increase is good!!!

What do you mean by thread optimization?

If its working for your system, it will be in Performence & Quality Settings...you have to enable Advanced settings, u may also need to import Coolbits.reg aswell..Should be at the bottom underneath "Negative LOD bias"... I will try to upload a screen cap after I get home from work if you want...

Nope, its their own proprietary engine. Not the monolith engine.

You might need to install coolbits to access it, or remove your previous drivers and then install these.
Thread optimization is for either dual core CPUs or SLI GPUs. I haven't heard anything from Intel users about it yet though.

That is correct. Coolbits required, dual core cpu required. Intel users at 3dguru have had issues accessing these features as well.

With these drivers Oblivion would crash before it even loaded, back to 84.43. :)

Bringing the htread back to life to see what thoughts are still on this modded driver. I just put together an AM2 X2 4200 with SLI XFX 7600 GT's, one the XXX Edition 590/1600 the other the Extreme Edition 580/1500.
Is this one of the better drivers currently as I have been an ATI fan boy. Also I just did another format to start from scratch as I did not like the 91.31's and the new panel. I want something simple to overclock via coolbits, the new 91.31 was not familiar and I did not like the new control panel. Did not have time to test it gaming but I hit 10,650 in 3D05 with 4200 running stock 2.2
I am just looking for a good SLI driver preferably with older control panel........

The new drivers have the option to change back to the old style control panel, I think its under the View menu.

So far, for SLI, the 91.33 drivers seem to work wonders. After enabling Thread Optimization from the driver panel, I get about a 15 - 20% increase in Doom 3 based games, and about a 5-10% increase in DirectX games.

Well now I look like a twit,LOL shows how much time I have been spending on my system. I will leave the 87.25's as is and then upgrade back to the 91.31's wondering whether my 10K+ is in line for 2x76GT's SLI wx2 4200 dual running stock clocks
I assume for any overclocking one adds the coobits reg edit or uses powerstrip? What is best choice these days with NV?

I've always used coobits, but I've heard that Riva Tuner is better for OCing SLI cards. Coolbits doesn't seem to save overclocking settings, even after editing it's registry entry for use with SLI cards.

Cool thanks for the Riva tip. I ran cards at 585/1550 in SLI and scored roughly the same at 10,6xx, with x2 4200 stock . Now I gotta get this chip to 2.8
