Hey all.... I've been doing some experiments lately....

My machine multi-boots Windows XP, 2k and 98. (XP being my main OS) XP wasn't connecting to upload WU's, and it seemed to be some sort of server timeout on Stanford's end, since I could ping the server just fine. It was really beginning to tick me off....

So yesterday I was in Win98 typing a paper (Since Win98 is kinda stripped down, no games installed, there's no temptation to be distracted). I decided to see if I could run the Folding instance from my WinXP partition, and it worked. I also noticed it was uploading WU's on the first try!! Woohooo!! I cleaned out my queue by closing down and restarting the client a few times. Now I am back in WinXP and it's having the same problems contacting Stanford's servers. Is there some setting in WinXP that I've missed? I really don't want to have to go through the pain of booting into Win98 every few days to clean out my queue, but I'll do what I need to to keep getting credit on my main box (TBird@1375, for now). Ideally, though, I'd like to fix this problem so that WinXP connects and uploads completed units like it should.

Anywho, a word of help would be nice if anyone has had a similar problem......

TIA,
SickBoy
