No matter what I try, I often get the message:

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at... (name of the server...)

Then, if I press F5 from 1 time to 50 times (never the same) I then finally get to access the page. It is Extremely annoying. My computer has been doing that for something like 2 months. It never did that before (I had it for 8 months.) I did not change hardware. The other computers in my network don't do it. I reinstalled windows more than 4 times (tried SP1, SP2... I tried All I could to make the problem go away) and the problem is still there. I even flashed my motherboard to the very most recent beta BIOS and no difference. I am considering upgrading just to get away from that problem!! :bang head Do you have an idea what could be causing that??:(

Sounds like a DNS problem. Checked for malware?

Yes sound slike a malware spyware whatever you want to call it. At the very least it is a DNS error so try webroot spysweeper free trial should fix it.

I completely formated and reinstalled the system 4 times and the problem remained each and every time... No malware. The system did it even if, after reformating and reinstalling, I was just trying to access very legit sites like www.dangerden.com or www.crazypc.com or ever www.ocforums.com...

Also, note that after each installation, if one of the other computers of my network was connected to my router, it did not have the problem. So if a DNS was bad, it would be bad for all my computer, no?

I also verified that my host file in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc" had only "127.0.0.1" (home...)

Does it do the same thing if you use IE?

It does it with IE, Opera and Firefox. I must modify what I have said earlier; I have seen today the same behaviour in other computers in my network, so it would seem that it is a DNS problem... I use what Videotron gives me; what would be a good DNS to use to avoid all problems?
