Best success with MSI 6905 Rev 2.x MASTER for FCPGA CPUs ....

I think the Iwill Slocket II might come second..
It's designed for maximal overclocking. Basic features like the 66/100/133 bus selectors is avaible just like the other popular slockets. This one offers voltage adjustments ranging from 1.30V to 2.10V in 0.05V increments, and from 2.10V to 3.50V in 0.10V increments (31 settings total) so it offers enough voltage to liquify your processor.
I think the Abit Slotket III has great features and offers voltages of upto 2.60V. **EDIT** my fault.. it's upto 3.50V
I'm currently using a Generics Super Slotket III with no voltage adjustments on my P3 1000E. Planning to go with the Iwill Slocket II for my machine.

Just a question..
Not knowing much about slotkets... Lets say my limits to my BE-6 are Celeron/Pentium 700mhz(Which they are) and I add a slotket and put in a 1gig celly ... It would be the slotket's job to detect it right?
And it would it detect it?

yeah if you put a 1Ghz Celery on the slocket to your mobo and if your mobo bios supports 10X multiplier, then the multiplier recognition will take effect and display in your BIOS as what suppose to be shown. If you have an earlier version of the BIOS, the multiplier part will not be recognized but it still will be run at 10X.
As for the FSB part, just set the slocket to auto (it's set by default) and it will take care of the FSB default part for the 1Ghz Celery.

So lets say you try to overclock do you overclock with the slotket or bios?

Let's assume that the slocket is set default of "auto". You simply go into the BIOS and overclock there. This works with both Celery or P3.
If the slocket offers voltage adjustment, you can set this to auto (may be arranged differently depends on the slockets) and you can change the voltage in the BIOS too. If you want higher voltage than your BIOS offers, you can manually set the voltage on the slocket as you desire. Then the Vcore voltage will take effect in the BIOS and you don't have to touch it.

I heard of voltage-unstabilities when using the Abit slotket III. I used the 6905 with a cel2 633@1045 on a P3B-F and it ran rock stable.
Just set the FSB (66/100/133) and the voltage (1.3-2.6) on the slotket and do the rest via BIOS settings ....

Regarding the Abit Slotket III...
Some suck, some don't. I happen to have one of the sucky ones, which has stability issues when pressed with higher voltages and faster speeds. I'm talking stability slightly LESS than my generic no-teaking slocket, and a sizable bit less than my Iwill slocket II.
The Iwill is good, and I'd also recommend the ASUS, which friends seem to have no problems with as well.
Hmmm ..
I'm thinking of getting a Celeron 800 but I need a slotket for my Abit BE-6..
So I will either wait a little and ask my brother for the Abit Slotket which I can bid off Ebay and get the Celeron 1ghz..
BTW what multiplier does the Celeron 1gig have? I think I only have supporting multipliers up to 11.5 on my mobo me thinks.

The Celery 1 Ghz runs at 100Mhz FSB so it has a multiplier of 10.

Hehe good I'll get that and probably get some good cooler. :)
Is the
Gigabyte GA-6R7+ Sapphire Blue Slotket
any good it is on ebay for a very cheap affordable price hehe

I have an Asus p2b rev 1.02 (currently running with a pII 350)
should I stick with Asus for the slotket in that case ?
asuming that it provides the right voltage for a processor upgrade
what kinda processor should I use?
a celeron 600 ?? 700 ?? 900???
thanx
If you can't get anything better than the asus use it if not try to find these slotkets.

the brand of slocket doesnt matter for compatibility, if its an ASUS board you can run any socket...
_ ronin75_, see my Sig
I use the Same mobo and everything as yours.
I had a P2 350, which now has been upgraded to C600 @ 900
I used the ASUS Slotket and had so far been running it for about 3 months @ 1.8V with zero problems.
The 900 Mhz its running at 100FSB.
However note that the P2B likes voltages in .10 and not in .05 increments.

I was a big fan of the ASUS brand slotkets. Very stable and little plastic to trap heat like the Abit one does.

I've got the asus 370-dl on a p2b-f. Cel566@950. No problems with core . Some other things to think about. Space on the board for the sink after you install the slocket. You may have to mod your airflow pattern. The slocket could (will) change your airflow pattern. I added a side hole to the left front of the case, air blowing in. Cpu temp readings (I know there's an on-chip sensor and most slockets claim to be able to get the signal. I couldn't and had to rig an external sensor to the MB). Might get some error messages from the bios. Slocket will adjust the core voltages but the board might pick it up and like it or it might fuss at you. Mounting setup to the slot. The 370-dl seems loose to me but it's been great for 9 months. You're at the right place to hear from people who have been there. Some of these might affect you and some won't. They are the things I had to work around.

I hope my airflow wont be affected that much
because I ordered a celeron 900 (was cheap enough ;))
and am not planning to go much higher than 900 - 950
due to the fact that my mobo's a rev 1.02 with an fsb is 112
dont know what kinda multiplier is in the cellie 900
but it will be an improvement to my PII 350 ;)))

Multiplier is 9, and with somehow better than average cooling, you can offically join the GZ club...:D

GZ club ??
pleez explain
would that be the club of OCers with a fire hoze by their pc ??
:))

uh...not really, since fsb is only 112. just be sure to have a good cooling device, or just shed some money on an ASII first, see how your temp doing. if it is still too high, go for Globalwin FOP32-1 or OCZ Dominator 2. Both are excellent in price and performace. But beware that ocz has the power to blown out your ears...:D

GZ club... Gigahertz club. People who have 1Ghz+ processors. Though if you're gonna do it by overclocking like I did on my second rig, you may need the firehose, too.:D
one of the guys questions was if anyone knew where to FIND the things, forsale that is.....i'm also looking, anyone know?
would prefer the asus or the iwill:)

I have a Generic ('Matrix CPU converter', wow!) slotket without any Voltage adjustments. I set the two jumpers that are on it to 'overclock' and '133Mhz FSB', slapped an Alpha PEP66T on it and did the rest in BIOS. (took some time to reach my current 134FSB OC though) Here's what it looks like on my BE6-II...
