How hot is too Hot.?

are mb temps reliable?
my mb reports 50c for my xp 1700+
Is 50c an unstable temp?

Im using an SK6 and ASII, shouldnt my tmp be lower?

( i folowed the directions on the ASII web site)
Did i use enough ASII, some of the text on the core was still visable?

do i need a shim?
(i know they dont do anything for cooling)

50C... Is that idle or load?

How is it unstable?

i dont think at this point there is an idel or load,

i get the temp from bios
after the pc is running for 30 min. i do a reboot, go to bios
and thats the temp.
No bootable OS at this point. i cant seem to get 1 installed.

I have 2 win98 cd's 98a and 98se
only 98a will boot?
i have a burn of xp it wont boot
i have various boot flopies, the only one that will boot is
disk 1 from my norton rescue disk set.
I was able to run ghost from cd, i copied my image of my old hd to my new maxtor 40 gig.
it will boot but 98 crashes
( probably drivers cause that os had a 440bx mother board)

i am runing BIOS failsafe defaults.

98 and nt 4 setups both crash!
