I wonder if the XP1900+ could reach the 2100+ or 2200+ PR if they went to the 14X mutiplier setting or increased the FSB to 140 and up.

I wouldn't doubt it. I've seen some that were running at 1800 MHz..which is probably ~2400+, though I think that the PR is linked with the multiplier and not the total speed.

I would be willing to say yes, but I'm not 100% sure. I've seen some P4 northwood scores that will require the PR rating to adjust if they want to keep it realistic.

A 2400+ XP or 2500+ XP without it really being an authentic 2400+ is what's really amazing! What will AMD call their first real 2.0GHz chip? A 3000+ SXP or SMP? The S is for SUPER!!!:D

That is a very good article by tom ,but at http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/AthlonXPUnlock/ there is the first reliably published unlocking trick.

it is faster than toms but i think toms is a bit safer.

Welcome to the forum Cowboy X. That one made the rounds. But thanks for the heads up.

I think they should stop that XX00+ cr@p now. When I was young and new nothing of computers, I was so proud of my IMB/Cyrix MII 333, without knowing it were no 333 MHz but 266. Somehow, it looks better with MHz numbers than with serial numbers. :(
In the meantime, they can call them Hyper or whatever.

It is. If the FSB is changed, the BIOS will usually show the overall speed only when booting. If the multi is changed, running at 133FSB, the PR rating (1500+, 1600+, etc..) will show depending on what multi is being used.

uhmm uhmm

for the new northwood core, AMD will indeed skip 66MHz jumps and start upping with 133MHz jumps. so 133MHz AMD will equal 100MHz Intel. Eventually, AMD will need throughbred which will start ramping up the MHz into the 2000MHz+ mark.

I know some real 'hardcore' and I mean hardcore computer geeks that have gotten ahold of the new projected PR rating system from AMD which goes as follows. OUGH, throughbred is delayed folks!

AMD 1667MHz = XP2000+ 266fsb 12.5X
AMD 1733MHz = XP2100+ 266fsb 13X
AMD 1800MHz = XP2200+ 266fsb 13.5X
AMD 1833MHz = XP2200+ 333fsb 11X
AMD 1933MHz = XP2300+ 266fsb 14X
AMD 2000MHz = XP2400+ 266fsb/333fsb 15X / 12X
AMD 2166MHz = XP2500+ 333fsb 13X
AMD 2333MHz = XP2600+ 333fsb 14X
AMD 2500MHz = XP2700+ 333fsb 15X
------------------------------------------------End of 2002

opps, I must add that the last two on the list are an estrimate and not from those guys, sorry, but its looks about right eh?

I'm thinking, @ 2500MHz, AMD will adjust the PR rating again.

I got the XP2100+ up on my boot screen.

Does anyone know how compatible the throughbred should be with 266fsb mother boards???

i bet those guys pulled those specs from Iwills KK333 or somtin like that??? they got the 333fsb ready and its easy for geeks to get at the bios bin dippss lol

:D Just a hunch
