Here's my overclocking results so far with my XP1900+ straight out of the box.

The processor at default speed runs at 1.6Ghz. Now my aim was to reach 1.8Ghz on air and this was successfully achieved with my XP1900+.

Some of you might be interested in the stepping so here it is:

AX1900DMT3C
AGNGA0143TPCW
Y7103.....

So its the new AGNGA stepping, manufactured in week 43, with third line of code a Y.

Here's a WCPUID shot:

I must say those numbers are smashing! I'd like to see the Intel CPU that can hit those marks.

Cool, looks good Paul. I'm getting an XP1900 this week and I was hoping for 1.8 as well.:)
I'll post my results and stepping info when I get it.

I got my 1900 today.

Interesting stepping

AX1900DMT3C
AGKGA0142MPMW
K0100XXXXXX

A week 42 'K'.

It appears Paul that you have one of the new stepping codes. I was hoping an AGNGA -- but you never know maybe these 'K' processors are Uber O/C'ers.

JCviggen over at Hard Forums got a 1800+ 'K' to 1.9 ghz on plain water. Hopefully this chip will get there as well. It seems that the 'K' stepping may be even better than they 'Y' stepping. I sure hope this guy is an O/C superstar.

I'll keep you all informed, but I won't be satisfied with 1.8 -- my 1800 can do that. I want 1.9 ghz or else I will probably sell this guy.

Nice!

See how high you can get the processor with a higher multiplier and defualt 133MHz bus setup. I still havnt gotten my system stable @ 1.8GHz, so I fell back to be secure at 1733MHz, which runs circles around any Intel processor on the market, except a good friends processor, which is a Pentium4 2GHz O/Ced @ 2400MHz.

My Tbird benchmarks 4480/2200 and 8300 on 3dnow/1040 MMX
its O'c to 1.6 134 MHZ FSB on a KG7 RAID setup

Just because of my curiousity can you tell me how far ahead the p4 is compared to your chip?

Hey Paul - did the L1 bridges look any different on your chip, or did you have a chance to look?

Sweet... I eat my words about the price difference between 1800+ and 1900+.

I wonder what future steppins will be? and how they o/c?

there is NO P4 out yet that can come close to those scores, that absolutely smashed the P4 2.0ghz, i hope that was a joke LOL:mad:

Hey Jason - he was talking about a P4 overclocked to 2.4GHz - not the stock 2GHz piece. I've seen some Northwood samples now that would equal a "3000+" model Athlon. I gather you're an AMD fan, but don't get so stuck on them that you write off Intel altogether. I've seen plenty of stock pieces overclocked well in excess performance wise of the best overclocked XP. Don't consider the P4 a piece of junk just yet. The party is just getting started :)

He he yes this is true. I like AMD but Intel will have some tricks up there sleeves also they might come out with a monster i heard that the P5 is coming out but not sure when when that happens hopefully AMDs Sledgehammer and Clawhammer will take it out :)

I'm very interested in sledge and claw. Intel's 64 bit solution, while very impressive with native 64 bit code, the backwards compatibility is a joke. Of course people running 64 bit apps tend to be dedicated to that and running legacy 32 bit apps is not likely to be an issue for them.

Can't wait for 64bit to hit the mainstream market. The 32bit legacy doesn't interest me, think of the performance gains in 3D packages. Hopefully AMD and Intel will drive each others prices down quickly, just have to wait for the software developers to get on the bandwagon.

I'm planning to get an XP for myself. I'm looking at the 1600XP and just to ask around to see how far can it o/c ?. Or should I get the 1500XP instead ?. Please suggest and let me know which is a better choice and the stepping I need to get ?. Thanks !

All the ones I've used so far overclock about the same - 1.7-1.8 with air cooling seems to be about the top. You could save a little money on the 1.3 and overclock it to at least 1.7.

TC,

Not all XP's overclock the same. My XP1600+ on my IWill KK266R will only reach 1.61Ghz stable with 2.2volts of Vcore juice. Now gouki, what you need to keep in mind is firstly the stepping. Most people who are reaching 1.7Ghz + have AGKGA Y stepping. Now the week is also an important factor. Week 38 and 43 seem to be good overclockers. My 1.4GHz has AGKGA Y stepping but is week 33. So the week the processor was manufactured is another issue to keep in mind. On my Iwill KK266R it can reach 1.87GHz stable with 2.2volts easily on air, however on my Epox 8KHA+ it will only do 1.8GHz because my Vcore is only 2.03Volts max.

Hope this helped.....

If you can get an XP1500 with a stepping AGKGA Y and week 38 go ahead and get it!!!!!!!!

P....

P.S TC my XP1900+ has slits instead of pits on the L1 bridges. Havent unlock it yet. Soon though!!!

My Week 42 AGKGA 'F' 1900+ is an outstanding O/C'er.

I have it running 24/7 right now at 1.83 ghz (152 FSB) (@2.05 Vcore) -- they highest I can get stable on my 8K7A. It will load windows at 154 and 155 FSB but freezes when I load an instensive app. And will run fairly stable at 153 FSB -- but eventually will lock up after about 12 hours of UD client or Prime 95.

I am confident that if I could get the Vcore to 2.15 (stable -- my 8K7A+ can't keep the Vcore at that number, it drops to 2.06 under load), this 1900 would run at or neat 1.9 ghz.

I figure at some point I will jump to a KT266a board once the top performer is clear (my bet is it will be the Abit KR7), and do a volt mod to take the board to 2.2 Vcore.

JCViggen tested five different AGKGA 1800+'s and found the 'F' stepping to be the best -- he got his week 40 to 1.9 ghz at 2.2 Vcore (on plain watercooling).

So don't overlook the 'F' stepping -- as far as AGKGA's -- it seems to be the best.

And Week 39 chips are great as well. My 1800+ week 39 AGKGA 'Y' would run at 1.8 ghz (@ 2.05 Vcore) but would get rounding errors in Prime 95. It would do 1.75 ghz 24/7 under load (from Seti and UD client) with no rounding errors after 18 hours of Prime 95. Again with more Vcore -- I think this chip would stablize around 1.8 ghz.

Personally, I do think that XP 1500's and 1600's do not O/C anywhere near where the 1800's and 1900's will. Most people I have heard from have been lucky to get their chips to the O/C to the PR number (i.e., 1500 tends to top out around 1.55 ghz and the 1600 tends to top out around 1.6+ ghz).

Keep in mind this is all anecdotal and completely and utterly statistically meaningless.

More of a bump

But I got my self an AthlonXP 1900+

My rig is not even set up yet so I can't oc it right now.
Just wanna see more results

And has anyone able to reach 1.9 ghz with water cooling? :)
If so what are the steppings
