I'm probable getting a G4 Ibook (unknonw stats, will know later) from a friend but I do know that the screen is broken, I was wondering how difficult it would be to remove it procure a new one and install? I'm guessing my best bet for parts is ebay. It will be also my first contact with apple since the Mcintosh plus...so if there is any thing I should know please tell me.

Just be careful, just to remove a hard drive on this is 52 scews, it's something like 80 screws for the screen (if not more). And a lot of them are hex-screws so you will need special tools. On top of that there are a lot of hit or miss screws so if you slip you could damage a screw head and you will be stuck.

Ibooks were NOT made to be customer configurable, and apple went out of their way to make sure of that.
