MCO is probably the greatest pc racing game ever created. taking elements of an rpg, mixing it together with racing and selling ot to the publicis the greatest idea ever. its a great game

From a gameplay perspective I agree. I was in the beta and really liked playing. However, I won't pay a monthly fee for any game and will not buy a game that cannot be played as single player (w/o internet) or on a LAN. Call me old fasioned, but when I buy a game, I feel I should be able to play it for as long as I own the disc, not just as long as I keep paying. As a consumer, I don't like the Gillette strategy of marketing.
I cannot dispute that there is a market for this type of game (as evidenced by evercrack) but without the flexibility to play the game without a service fee it cannot be the best racing game ever, IMHO.

It's definitely awesome, but I'm going to be without University broadband over my huge Christmas break(Thanksgiving-New Year), so I'm waiting until January to get it.
so is it basically Gran Turismo Online? if it is, then I'm down!

I never played GT, but I compare it to NFS online, but the cars are from the 20s-70s, and you get to fully customize the internals! I loved the beta...tweaking the hardware and having a sweet looking car is half the fun!!
btw: in the retail version, do they let you make custom skins for cars? Or are the blazes/streaks the best option you have?
I really liked the beta of MCO, but there were lots of little things that bugged me about the game. One thing was the lack of parts in the beta for all the engines. The auctions really destroyed the economy in that game too.
I just wish I had my 440 Charger back D: I would have bought the game if I could have kept it.

really?
i didnt know yet about monthly payments and the lack of something like a single player for not to play online. cant beleive this. that must be why i havent heard too much of MCO lately.
i actually thought it would be one of the best racing games ever, but... i can only play the game if i agree with paying a fee every month?! how much is it btw?
It's $9.99 USD a month, and when you buy the game it comes with the first month free. I think in the cyber deals forum, it going for $28 someplace.
The beta community wasn't that great, but the pay to play subscription should weed out the immature dolts :)
paying to play online..what a rip off...You pay enough with broadband ISP...dont think I want to pay to play my games as well...
