Did the internet just crash?

I think the internet crashed. The only site that worked were only really popular ones like google and msn and CNN. Worldofwarcraft.com, foxnews.com, ocforums.com, and 10 other sites 'didn't exisit'. I was brought to the MSN sorry we didn't find you page.

who knows....probably some odd outage/problem in your area. To 'crash the internet' we're talking dozens of servers in dozens of cities across the globe. It's more likely a local problem related your ISP.

I highly doubt the internet crashed. Maybe your ISP's DNS server had a hiccup.

Probably something like that. A complete Internet outage would require a significant (I'd say >65%) percentage of the servers to quit, which is somewhat unlikely. Periodic outages resulting in slowness/timeouts/crappiness do happen—no system is perfect.

But it's all working now, right?

My ISP's dns servers were down for like 10 mins this morning too, strange. One of the few times I've ever had an 'unscheduled' outage
