I have the 1.4 oc'd to 1.533 but I only did that by raising the frequency to 11.5. If i raise my FSB even by 1, I get all kinds of IRQL error blue screens when windows starts up! WTF?? I thought my new glaciator II hsf would help, and it definately brought down my temps, but I still cant raise FSB! Someone please help! the details of my sys are in my signature below. thanx

I have the GA-7DXR mobo, which is notorious for reading temps too high, and I'm getting idle around 45C and full load around 53C. I'm running my vcore at about 1.82 volts.

I have a stick of Micron pc2100 that would only hit 100fsb.
First try to underclock the fsb to 100fsb and o/c with mult.
if you get your chip beyond 1.53 then its the RAM.
Try to up the voltage of the RAM.
Also is it on Micron PCB or noname with Micron chips?
wow my post made no sense.

Just spent 2 days playing with my BIOS. To start I couldn't even hit a 120FSB. Go to BIOS and turn off TOP Performance in the Advanced Chipset Features, this allowed me to hit 134 FSB.
I too am having real problems trying to hit a sweet spot with the RAM.
You might want to check the specs of your RAM CAS Latency 2 or 2.5 in Advanced chipset features. With mine set at 2.5 I can hit a 140 FSB. I am also going to revert to the original BIOS to see if that helps some.
It could be one of the peripherals you have plugged in that can't handle a higher FSB--video, lan, sound, etc. Try pulling everything but the video. Failing that, try a different video card.

Well, im gonna try disabline top performance. I have my agp and ram over-volted right now, and that seemed to help a bit, but im thinking about increasing the voltage on my ram even more, but that kinda scares me. ill keep you all posted, and HOPEFULLY i can get thi thing a bit more oc'd!

Just found an article and now have lost it. Basically it says people have experienced nothing but problems with Top Performance enabled.

Thanks 13oots2, i diabled top performance, and I was finally able to boost my FSB! I'm running at 11 X 140 right now, and it seems pretty stable. Before I go to bed, im gonna schedule a bunch of stability tests, and if its stable, I'll see if I can push it any more. But, i noticed that my chipset hsf was getting really hot, so i think i might need to add a better hsf to it.
