Is your computer stable? leave everything at default clocks and try to run it again, if you can try it in another system. What card did you have before this one, run driver cleaner to get rid of old driver and some of the crap that is left behind when you uninstall them.

i've got everything at default could it be clocking it to 4.gigs? i read in asus forum leaving some bios settings to auto causes then to overclock when ocing the chip. today i tried a different motherboard at stock and it still does it. i guess i need to get another pci card test that in the system. i always thought if a card was bad no video.

I just had the same problem with my 7600GT, I called evga cust. service, and they told me to disable the setting in the bios called PEG Link mode. They told me this linked the PCI-e ratio to 1:1 with the cpu, but they were wrong, What it actually does is automatically overclock video cards, which causes lots of problems with some cards. Just disable it.

i played with all the peg settings and still any game or benchmark crashes system. went and bought an ati x1600 and everything runs fine. i used rivatuner 16 to peek around (didnt change anything) before this happened. could the bios be corrupt on the card now?

A tech from XFX called and had me run a couple things. 5 min. later he gave me an rma and said they are working with nvidia about this problem. I wish i would have not ordered a brand new one from egg. I would have got something different. From looking around All the companies are having problems with the 7900gt.
