soon ill be the net work admin @ my school for r new domain
it will have 26 + computers mostly 1 gig P III 26 and, and maybe 8 600 celerons , i could maybe have them all runing F@H @ night since thy r on 24/7 and on a T1
how much would this help the team ?
not that they r OCed r any thing they would kill me
How much will this help the team? Quite a bit!! :D
That would be awesome if you can get that set up and running! 30 rigs, mostly P/// 1GHz's....wow. I can see me getting bumped down the stat sheet a space pretty quickly....lol
I hope I do. This is just what this team needs, desperately. That's some serious Folding power there. We'd love to have those rigs Folding for ol' Team 32...:D
Overclocked or not, it would still be a huge boost for us. Please let us know when you get them Folding...:)
Thanks!

WOW !!!! :D :D
Did I say WOW !!!! :D
That would be AWESOME !!!!!!
I concur with Mr B, the team DESPERATELY needs that kind of power. We are #2 in the world but losing ground to OCAU because they have 2 large farms producing work for them.
We are not far behind, but need a good shot in the arm.
Let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do to help get this set up. There is a lot of knowledge on the folding software and how it works floating around here so don't be afraid to ask.
We should be able to get something set up that you could put on a floppy and go from machine to machine to set them up quickly.
But, I get ahead of myself. Let us know how you make out and if we can help.
Fold On !!!

Might want to check with the school board/trustees/whatever to make sure it's alright unless you have free reign. Just to be safe. :)
But that would be a very welcome addition to the team :D

Great stuff, when I get my other rig here, i'll get that folding too...
We need your help!!
Read my post about the Beta release of the client I believe it took care of some of the issues of running it as a service. Fold on as many machines as possible:D

Sssssssswwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeetttttttt !!!
That'll give the team a great boost !!
Nice Work ! :D
If you think you'll get any heat for it, don't risk getting in trouble though.
Are the machines Win98, NT, 2K ?
I'm just thinking of the best way to set them up to prevent users from fiddling with the settings or shutting them down. If they are NT or 2K, setting them up as a service would work great.
If they are 98 you could just run the Graphical client in the tray and hope they don't change the settings. Or maybe there is a better way on 98 as well to make it more 'hidden'.
You can probably fit everything on a floppy (program and client.cfg) and put them on that way.
Anyway, however you think it's best. Just offering ideas.
Fold On !!!!
Weeeeeeee...;)

Take your time. Take as long as you want, as long as you get it done by friday. HE HE! :)
This is exactly the kind of thing we need to be able to match/beat OCAU! Just make sure you get permission first.
That will be great :)
On our way to the top spot again. :D

Be sure to mention what the folding is doing. i think if you emphasize the fact that it for medical research they will be more willing to let you do it.

That will be a great farm and should rocket you up the team stats, that's for sure ! :D
I'm not familiar with XP, but all the 2K machines can have this set up as a service and will run in the background very nicely.
Here (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44442) is the thread where Ploaf put a link to a ZIP file that has all the components necessary to make the service version of FAH installable from a floppy.
You will want to replace the FAH.exe with the newest version of the text only console from Stanford and rename it to FAH.exe or alter the batch file to have the service run the EXE by the name that Stanford gives it (fahConsole.exe, I think). Anyway, I'm sure you know what I mean.
You will also need your client.cfg from your main rig to put on the floppy so all clients are set up under your name and team 32.
I used the script on a floppy to set up one of my machines as a service and it was easy as pie.
Good luck !
