Hiya.
Ok see I have a Asus P5GDC, this was my first computer and i was oblivious to the pitfalls of 915P chipset. My proc is a P4 630, X1800XT, Audigy2zs, 520W powerstream, OCZ ddr500 Platinum 2gb.
I realized a while ago while overclocking, I never thought to lock the pcie bus, I did lock the pci/agp. Overclocking adventures were going fine, but once I really got into them high clocks I noticed graphical corruption in my games. I tried to lock the PCIE bus to 100mhz but as i knew it, it wouldnt work. The reason why 915p was so hated lol. So I just downloaded clockgen to check how much my pcie bus was rising. Currently with my proc at 3.75ghz the pcie bus speed is 116mhz. I will be giving this computer to my dad and upgrading to conroe, but until the time being I do want to do some slight overclocking for games and the such.
So my question is, Since I cannot lock the bus, How far do you think is a safe bus speed without hurting the card? I know 100mhz would be best, but whats the point safe ENOUGH so that the card wont get screwed.
