i asked this before and i didnt get that much of response, so I am asking it again, What are good 120mm fans? i need about 3. They are going to be put on my black ice 2. They need to have good air movement and not to loud. Thanks.

These ultra-cool clear fans are really good, I have used them in the past. They are adjustable too! From 67 cfm to 95 cfm, they have 3 speeds.

My favorite quiet 120mm fans are the 84CFM Panaflow L1As. When omph is needed sometimes and quiet the rest of the time, I use the 131 CFM YS techs with a LM317T voltage regulator.

i got one from radioshak

85CFM

its HEAVY....solid metal....it'll last a long long time...this thing is pretty nice :D

the thing i like about it is its really quiet...my friend has a panaflow and this thing is barely detectable when u sit it side by side with the pana....

I got one of them 120mm YS Tech FD1212387B-2R 127CFM & it's really not as noisy as some people make it out to be. If you isolate the fan with rubber then all you here is wind moving like a jet:eek: (j/k)

Remember, Panaflows are made in three different speeds. The Panaflow L1A is the low CFM quiet one. It is quieter than the Radio Shack 120 mm fan.

I have several Sunons. They are rated at 103 cfm and were a little loud, so I set them to 7volts. They work fine for me.

I think Hoot's favorites are the Sanyo Denki fans.

I use the Sanyo Denki, 120mm 103 cfm fans, and they are only like 40db, so if you wanna quieter then do the 7v mod and still be happy.

I've got a NMB but aparently if falls about 20% behing in cfm and a few db above what others have posted on their brands. Still, for me it was cheap, $10 (that's about 8 cents American) at a surplus store. ~90cfm, 45db.

*** edit: It has a thermal resistor on it to vary it's speed based on temp if that's of any use to you. I just soldered it shut on mine so it runs full blast.

***Please note! Fans used on the Blackice radiators MUST have a free airflow rating of 100 cfm or more and a static pressure capability of at least .12 inwg

What are good for this?

The YSTech or the Delta 105 CFM with 6K RPM turbulance.

Does it have to be 120mm? You could get that $10 Comair Rotron fan thats 235cfm at roughly 6" size. NMB makes a similarly sized fan that puts out around 300cfm, not sure how much that one costs though.

I'm using my Panaflo L1A at 10V on my Blackice and it works good. 20C ambient, 32C on Seti on the proc on my back panel of my case. I think the numbers on OCWC are just suggestions for max efficiency

I recommend Panaflo as well, though I think the L1As are more around 69CFM aren't they? I thought it was 69CFM L1A, 84CFM M1A and 103CFM H1A... Noise increases as the airflow goes up, but they are all very quiet for the amount of air they move.

I have the YS Tech 120+ cfm model. I plan on regulating it with on of the rheostats featured in the "Tips and Tricks" article here. I just hope the rheostat can handle the power draw... Let me know if anyone has had experience with this.

OK so i looked at the Panaflows, and i decided to get 2 M1A fans and either one H1A, or two LA1. It all depends. It all going to be attached to my fanbus that I am installing, so I can control the speeds.

www.bgmicro.com sells L-series Panaflo 120's for $6 apiece. That's where I got mine. :D

Sitting in my room playing tony hawk 3, then it hits me if i buy 2-4 HA1 then I can attach them to the bay bus and make them run quieter if i want to, then if i want more cooling and noise i will just turn up the power. YAY i think i solved my problem.
