After you enable SLi how do you enable dual screens?
I would hate not to be able to use my other Hyundai L90D
I have the primary screen running on the Primary card closest to the cpu.
Does SLi disable the outputs of the secondary card?? And use the bridge to make it two GPU's?
Does this mean no way for Quad LCD's????
Any help would be greatly appreciated

As far as i know you cant use dual screens, althought this is coming trom experience with two 6600GT's. Wheather they changed this for 7 series i dont know.
to run dual screens, u will have to disable sli in the nvidia profile settings. dont think there is a way to run dual screens if ur running sli. luckily u can enable/disable sli without having to restart.

MassRaptorThat will work, but it's a waste. You only need SLI for gamming, the rest of the time you can switch back to non-SLI/dual monitors. Do you really need to multi-task while gamming? What is it that you want to do while gamming...am I missing something here?

Dual screening while playing allows you monitor temps ,voltages , etc. etc.

I two used to use two screens when gaming before SLi... it's good too to keep track of whos in your vent channel, irc, messengers, ect.. mainly temps & stuff though. We R Hardcore. LoL

that's one reason why I sold one of my 7800gtx's ... one was fast enough .... and I'd rather run dual monitors ....

FX5200 PCI borks the SLi configuration
It then shows as three video cards:bang head NO SLI.
Dang i guess there will be a fire sale on some Hyundai L90D+'s

5200's are not SLI capable.

The OP wasn't trying to run the 5200 in SLI. He wanted to use the 5200 to run a second monitor so that he could keep his two 7800s running in SLI. And now with the 5200 in the PCI slot, sounds like with it installed the SLI still gets disabled on the two 7800s.
I have a feeling this problem is due to a driver issue. I wonder if using an ATI card in the PCI slot for the second monitor would work and allow you to keep the SLI enabled.

Is it really that important? Are you playing games to have fun or to see what effects they have on your computer? Absolutely having to know the readout on all my computer's guages has never been an issue for me while playing a game. Sounds like you are obsessing too much. You could always do the old alt tab, which is what I do if I wanna see how hot my processor or GPUs are. It works for me just fine in almost every game out there (Doom 3 is a noteable exception, but Doom 3 sucked anyway). Since you have a DFI NF4 board you can download use Motherboard Monitor 5 and download the configuration files from DFI's website and have the readout of all your voltages and temperatures there for you to see when you alt tab.
If you're playing the game and it's running just fine without crashing and no artifacts, what point is there in knowing what your voltages and temperatures are? Sometimes you just need to ask yourself, does it really matter? Hopefully they will fix SLI and dual screen implementation in the near future so you don't have to switch back and forth while you're not gaming.

Thanks for the Input.
I just wish that if you have the capability to run four screens on each output. Then they would make it so possible in the driver. You can spare 1 mb of Vid memory to run a second diplay. 511mb should be more than plenty to run even the most demanding of vid applications today.
As far as obsessive.Maybe.
But if you have two screen why not use em?Just the way i look at it.

I've got an old 3DFX Voodo dual core card, I'll have to try it sometime.
My setup is a little different. I'm not real competitive with gaming so I usually don't even use SLI for that. Just for benching. I run two instances of XP. One stripped down for OCing, and the other with all the bells and whistles. I renamed them in boot.ini, so I just boot to "Play" or "Overclock".
Play is dual monitors and overclock is SLI. Though I have done this too.

Or to keep your SquawkBox Transponder, your servInfo, and your approach charts on the other screen while you fly the airplane. :) (VATSIM geek.)
It would be cool if nVidia implemented SLI so that you could execute changes on-the-fly, like when a 3d mode application starts up, SLI is enabled and locks out the second screen...or better yet, I'd like to see them fix it with multimonitor setups.
