I have to go PCI on this guys...

I got the Radeon (32MB) SDR last week, and i'm happy. I just saw that I can pick up the Radeon all-in-wonder (32MB) DDR for about $50 more, would it be worth it for me? I know it has a tuner for cable, is it free? Does it have a soundcard built in?

It will be used on my Compaq (P// 400 MMX) 256MB RAM, DVD, 19" Sony. for the meanwhile, until I get another set up (which will probably be a 1.2GHz P///). Is it worth the extra $$$?

Thanks for the response, I want to trade it in as soon as possible if so.

okay, I read up on it... it has a bunch of software, and you can watch TV on you PC. You can also record TV to your HD, sounds cool. Anybody know if the performance is way better than the "regular" Radeon 32 MB?

Depends what you use it for..
IF gaming definitly not..

If its multimedia use then yes!

Its perfromance is not that far off a Radeon 32 DDR card 10% behind. I would say that for $50 more that card is a WAY better buy than your SDR Radeon. If ya can sell your sdr and put the money towards a AIW 32 DDR. If you use all the features it offers you will love the card.It may not be the ultimate 3D gaming card but it will do the job.

It is easily the best multi media card on the market currently till the Radeon 8500 DV multimedia AIW comes out.

I would snap it up you will live it, I had a ASUS V6800 Geforce 32 DDR Deluxe card that was similar and I loved it for the video in and out but it would not accept TV in like the Radeon, that is way cool...(but cable is not free you still need to subscribe and have a line running into your home)

Read the last paragraph of the conclusion it sums it all up

How about A7V.. DDR Ram.. 1gig Duron ..

maybe a few bucks over 200 but I think it'll do .. And the A7V has a kt266 chipset so it can be upgradable to a T Bird just in the future when it becomes cheap :)

yes but the K7S5A is faster (Sis735 chipset) and also a 1500+ would crush a Duran 1GHZ...for less money....

oopsie.. did I start a battle?... hehehehe

I have had my P// 400MMX since Jun 98, for some reason I want to TRY a AMD. I'm not sure yet.

*** My friend bought a ATI Radeon PCI also, but the memory "chips" say Samsung, mine don't... Is there more than one kind of PCI radeon?

Why don't you sell your old rig and use the money on a new one? My mate sold his 400 for £450!!!! (He did have a spare monitor though...) then you could get more mem, a 1800+ and a ti200...worth a try eh?

Or just sell you old graphics cards!

:D Returned it, and got one with "hyundai" memory modules... oh so much better. Also updated the DVD drivers for Win2K, can we say ultra clear digital picture...

Is there anyway to gain clock speed on my Radeon???
