I have been folding about two years now, and I have never seen anything like this before.

Look at this

It is showing I had 73 WU two days ago and 600 points, and 2 WU's yesterday and 0 points. As you can see from earlier days, I have been averaging around 1450 points for the month. All of my machines are running correctly. what is the deal?

You'll have to look through the logs, to see what is happening, post them if possible wrapped in code tags.

had something like that happen at one time. Turned out to be a heat issue on a Linux rig. EUEd the heck out of anything downloaded. somewhere around 1500 WUs with 43 points :eek: \

I don't have time to post the log, but I know my comp has been running stable for 3 months now with no issue, and being from MN, the Temp hasn't been a problem either. I have amazing A/C and my CPU temps never go above 55c. So unless something else has happened, I don't know. Also, I have 9 or so computers borged, and none of them are OCed. So I am lost on this.

How long can it take to copy/paste? Not much longer than hitting the quote I'd guess. Can't help you without the log. Almost everyone of us has had what we thought was a uber stable machine that proved not to be as stable as we thought. Hardware problems do have a starting point afterall.

believe me, non o/c'ed machine does not = 100% stable!! it could be some hardware failure, e.g. I have a stock Dell that was EUE quite often, and I found out that one stick of the ram was bad. wasn't bad enough to crash anything else like office usage and/or web/normal everyday stuffs, but bad enough to give out errors in folding to cause it EUE! got a new stick in, and never have a single EUE again for the past 6 months!

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I was at my parents' for memorial day weekend, and when I made the first post, I was getting ready to leave for Atlanta. I just got back last night. I would happily post the "log" but I am not exactly sure how to go about doing that. I checked the stickies and didn't find anything, although I don't have a ton of time, this is my busy season at work. I am not really worried, but I like to push as many points for the team as possible.

I don't see any problems, looks like your WUs are finishing without problems. On your other logs look for them cutting off before they reach (100) and saying something about the core not being able to continue, that would be where your EUEs are coming from(if you're getting any).

There is nothing wrong in the posted log. Either another machine is acting up or the errors are noted in the file FAHLog-Prev.txt. You could look at that and post it if you see any errors.

The thing I am curious about it around the 27th of May, most peoples points dropped off. You can even look at the teams. The is an almost 80k drop in one day, and the team has been pretty consistant around 300k for a while now. Even yours and Niks dropped pretty hard after the 27th, but yours seem to bounce back while his didn't. I don't know if this had something to do with Heat or the long weekend, but something definately changed.

I am starting to wonder how reliable Standfords point system is. I have been getting these 130 pointers for the last month. My comp has been pushing out almost 4 of those a day for a while for roughly 400 pts/day. When I came back from Memorial weekend, I had two 220 pointers, that according to EMIII were going to take almost 60 hours each, which is 176 pts/day. Now I am not stupid enough to take my individual situation and blow it out of proportion, but I am curious to what you folks think.

Many of my machines got turned off for the long weekend and power failures at work and home (never turned off) over the weekend took a toll on production. I've found no evidence of any uncounted or counted and undervalued WUs but I've got 90+ cpus folding so, it wouldn't be hard to miss something.

Stanford has been pretty good at correcting errors in the scoring system. Last year, they recredited a lot of people a lot of points for WUs improperly credited.

However in your case it looks like for two days, something pretty screwy was going on and now it's fine again. Were you running any software you don't normally run, something like real player or an anti spam program? Hardware stability doesn't look to be the problem (or it fixed itself) but software incompatibility could be.

Honestly all my computers that are folding were user idle. We were all at our lake cabin golfing and boating, so no one was doing anything but folding. We had no power issues, and when I came back home, my computer was folding away just I had left it. So I really don't know what to say. After I learned how to check the logs, I randomly checked 7 comps, and their logs looked fine as well.

No sir, I live in a huge apartment complex Downtown Minneapolis that pays for heating/cooling, so I have it cranked for 4 months a year. I never got above 28 while I was gone.

28 celcius is a fairly high ambient air temp. A rig running at 55 with ambient at 21 would get hot enough to have stability problems at 28.

You'll find the problem rig by reading FAHlog-Prev. If you do it before it gets overwritten. If you don't have time, rename the files on the possible offenders now and read them later.

There has been in the past problems with points getting reported when they have problems with one of there servers it could be a problem like that most the time they get it all corrected and you will see the points show up sometime later. I have seen it happen allot in the past not so much now but it can happen.
You could try and get the system your having problems with changed to a different server from from to see if it helps.

I apologize, I mean to put 20c, or 68f. Must have been a freudien slip to put 28. It stays real cold in my apartment, as a life long minnesotan, I like it cold =)

I think the main reason for the huge drop in production was the huge influx of bba5 wu's...they choked EVERYTHING up for a few days....

As for stablility...I've seen rigs that are prime stable and everything else stable but folding will take them down.

Those wu's worth nothing had to be EUE's...there's no other explination for it. Hopefully you're able to find the offender before the evidence gets wiped out. Good luck :thup:

I don't have time to post the log, but I know my comp has been running stable for 3 months now with no issue, and being from MN, the Temp hasn't been a problem either. I have amazing A/C and my CPU temps never go above 55c. So unless something else has happened, I don't know. Also, I have 9 or so computers borged, and none of them are OCed. So I am lost on this.

btw, just because windows doesnt crash doesnt mean FAH is fine. if the comp is not stable enough for FAH to run properly you will have problems like this. Remember, you gotta post the logs as you will get no other indication that FAh has issues w/o them.
