hey,

i might be building a 930 machine dual core for a transition (about a year away) into a large server work horse.

i figured a 930 would be fine if i overclock it to about 3.8-4.0(which apparently is reachable
best part of ^ it is about 400 with mobo

so what kind of other hardware do i need to get it up there..
water cooling or good heatsink? Ram? Mobo- i was thinking a SUPERMICRO PDSG4 or a Asus P5WD2 Premium?

I want it to be Fast to encode video but i would like to keep the price down as much as possible

I know conroe but i need this in like 1-2 weeks

Thanks for the advice ahead of time

P5WD2 Prem is a proven clocker and very stable board. Encoding, I might go for 2GB of 5300 and clock them as best you can. The Mushkin XP-5300 2x1GB seems like a pretty decent deal @ $260 and they have tight timings (3-3-3-10). There are plenty to choose from in the speed/capacity range though.

WCing wouldn't be mandatory for 3.8-4.0GHz for sure. The stock cooler should even handle that no problem, but at least a upgraded HSF might be a good idea. Cool electronics are happy electronics :)
