Hi,

I've got a Toshiba A105-S2091 laptop w/a 1.7 GHz Celeron M 390 (17x 100 MHz), 400 MHz FSB, and an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics/Chipset. I picked it up on sale from BB for $399.99.

Do you know if the wire mod for the Pentium M 7x0 series work w/the Celeron M 390 on this laptop, w/this chipset?

Could the 1.7 GHz Celeron M 390 (17x 100 MHz, w/a 400 MHz FSB) be replaced w/a Pentium M 7x5 series cpu w/a 400 MHz FSB? (735, 745, 755 etc)

How about going to a 533 MHz FSB cpu, such as the Pentium M 7x0 series? Would the system see it, and run the FSB at 533 MHz? (730, 740, 750 etc)

Finally, is there anyway to expand the video "shared" memory on this laptop from the max 128 mb to 256 mb? It's got 2 gb of memory, which I installed.

Thx.

.

Hi,

Has anyone done any mods to a Pentium 4 M powered, ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics/Chipset based laptop, or know of a place to read about any?

I modded my a105-2091 about a week ago. I pin modded the Celeron M that's in it and it's running at 2.21ghz. No problems and very stable.

Could you please tell me more about the method? I am a novice in this issue and have the same kind of laptop. :)

Not to hijack this thread, but I also have this same laptop. I also have a Mobile P4 Northwood cpu I got on ebay by mistake. Can this Mobile P4 be swapped with the celeron that is in this laptop? I've never taken a laptop apart, so my next question is, is the swapping of the cpu in this or any laptop an easy process like a desktop?
Thanks.
