View Full Version : How to compute wattage/Doc if you're around...
I just got a new 431W PSU & I was wondering if it will be enough when I get my KR7A - RAID, XP????(which ever is fastest when the time comes), 2 X 256MB 2700 CAS2 DDR, Ti500, another hard drive & a CDRW. I got 4 days left to decide to upgrade it to 550W. Since most of the upgrades will be trikling in one at a time it's more of a guessing game. Thanks for the input guys & girls:D

It should be fine for your new mobo. If you're worried, get a cheapo 300W PSU, and use it to power your drives and fans, leaving your 431W PSU to power the mobo.........
That PS should be plenty of energy for you're set up. I previously had an Antec 400W supply, and was running:
1.4 TBird @ 1804mhz
3-IBM 60GXP 7200RPM HD's
1-24X CD Burner
1-16X DVD
GeForce III running @ 260/575
Promise Raid card
10/100 Intel Network card
OrangeMicro USB 2.0/FireWire card
SoundBlaster 5.1 Live
3-120MM Fans
3-265meg memory sticks
1-mobo w/volt mod to 2.2v
AND a VapoChill case, with a internal vapor phase change compressor, running off the same 12V line!
Now I have the Enermax 550W, cus I felt depraved.
You should be safe........:D..........
