I haven't kept up to date with hardware for the last 6 or so months, and I was wondering what would be a good graphics card to get? Not for hard core gaming.. something that can play any game out, but not at max resolution.. Budget is probably $250. (PCI-Express)

If it were me, I'd look for an open-box Geforce 7900GT 256MB or Radeon x1900xt 256MB (I think the 256MB versions runs pretty cheap, prolly' same as open 7900, and the x1900 is faster).
I upgraded from a 7800GT 256 to this x1900xt 512, and I must say, it was a drastic change! My 7800GT clocked to her max still couldn't outbench this x1900@stock :D
There are other very good options other than these out there, I'm just going on getting the fastest absolute cards for >$250. You don't need a hardcore gaming rig, but these cards can put out some hardcore performance ;) Good luck,
-D

Either X1800XT or 7900GT. Going beyond that is leaving your price bracket.

I've got the 7900 gt and my brother has a radeon 9700 pro. The games with mine run a little bit smoother, with even better graphics, and I get a better fps. Plus, you'll be able to play more games with this card.

Definitely a x1800xt, you can get them for almost nothing now.
