How fast is my connection exactly?!

My ISP just informed me that they will upgrade my connection to 8 Mbit download and 1,2 Mbit upload. I have no clue as to how many kB/sec this is when I'll be downloading something under perfect conditions. Anyone? Right now I have 600-650kB/sec.

Divide by 8 and you get your speed.
8000/8 = 1000kB/S
1000/8 = 125kB/S

To find out your rated speeds off the downloads or upload. Multiply the speed by 8 and that is how fast your connection is.

So 650 x 8 = 5200
