Maybe no one is updating prices because it's Sunday? I dunno...

on the 4th, the prices on some of the 9xx's is supposed to be $178...but it might take a week or two for the prices to drop....and then on the 23rd of July they're supposed to drop again...

That's the price drop to the distributors, right?

So as dusty said, it takes a bit to drop on the market.

I dont (didnt) think the next price drops werent happening until July 23rd. Wheres a link to June 4 price drops? I know Intel lifts the NDA "today" for conroe benchmarks.

EDIT: Disregard, I saw a roadmap saying 930s and 920s are supposed to drop in price today. http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2547

It will take a few days, maybe weeks for retailers to clear their shelves of chips purchased at the old price....Normally Newegg and ZZF are the first ones to sell at the new price because they move a lot of inventory, while Tiger Direct may take twice as long. One would think retailers would try to time things better so not to be holding onto higher priced inventory..

From what I recall from the last price drop it took about 5 days to see them reduce prices. When it did, it was in increments, not a complete drop in price.

Will the 9xx series drop into the same socket as the 8xx series? I have an 820, but i worry the 2mb cache will not work with my setup?

Which is a better buy:

805 2.66GHz (533Mhz) @ $123.63 or 930 3GHz (800Mhz) @ $190.82??

Well you called it. That's exactly what's happening; some places are having "sales" on the 930 that expire in a few days, but the sale price is still higher than what it should be.
