Looks promising so long as they keep to how the original mechs operated in mech warrior. I was awesome at walking around someone and keeping the torso pointed at them.

im unsure if it will spell the end for bf2, ive got a feeling that bf2 will carry on......unlike bfv, when bf2 was released, EVERYONE just stopped playing it.

same problem I have whenever I play on an xbox :D

my main worry about this is that the main attraction of the battlefield series always seemed to be semi realistic real world combat, not 'way out there' scifi mechs and other implausible war machines that will never be built.

I don't see why.

My older AMD system with 6800Ultra and 1GB of RAM played BF2 just fine, but I had to put textures on medium cause it eats up allot of memory when on high. Everything else was set to max.

2142 is based on the same graphics engine as bf2. so u should be alright......

Although Ill proably try it, they defently let things go after bf42. This really doesnt look like a battefiled seiries games, with invisible soldiers and mech robots its more like UT then anything. And now only 2 armies, and a compeletly different gameplay from Conquest or CTF of original bf series. I wish they would make something based on the 50-70s, that would be a lot mroe itneresting in my opinion to a regualr bf series player like me.

This has always struck me as a knee jerk reaction to Quake Wars, whilst ill probably get both, the technology and gameplay behind Quake Wars seems much more appealing than being able to jump 200foot into the air in yet another era.

BF has really went down hill since BFV itll never be the same and itll never be a longstanding game just like COD. The only fps franchise that has any long term is the UT and CS titles.

looks like ea and dice trying to take some of quake wars thunder away to me. personally i will pass and check out qw instead. i really miss the days of 1942 and mods like forgotten hope and experience wwii.

for me bf2 is much more satisfying than bf1942, the only thing that doesn't work quite as well is the setting, but i'm not sure i can hack another bloody ww2 shooter for a while. however, even a future war between the us/europe/middle east/china is more acceptable than feeling like you are taking part in some low budget multiplayer sci fi film, quake wars has a better setting, as the quake universe is more established than whatever generic dumb post apocalypic world dice are coming up with.
