Well I just got my first summer pay check and it is time to SPEND IT!!!! I calculated that I will probably make ~5000 dollars mowing lawns this summer so why not spend it on computer parts!!!!

So far this is what it is shaping up to be:
1st Paycheck
1x Samsung 244t 24" Widescreen Monitor OR 24" DELL (cheaper)
1x iStarUSA Nitro Ax S-10000B Case (trying to be different)
2nd,3rd,4th Paychecks (Probably wont buy these parts until the end of the summer)
1x Intel Core Duo 2 E6700 2.67ghz Processor
1x Motherboard still up in the air
1x Graphics Card
2x Mushkin Extreme 2gig DDR2 800 (or 1000/1066??)
3x Seagate 750gig Hard drives (in RAID 5)

This baby needs to keep cool so I gotta soak it in water! I have been searching for a good case with a removable motherboard tray, hdd rack pointing outwards with atleast 5 drives, lots of room, quite and cheap!

Well i found a good canidate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811165008
Looks like a good case to cut/dremel up. :D

Any other good cases I should be looking at (no more than $150)?

Watercooling parts:
I want this case to be super quite, so I want to go with low CFM fans and a huge rad. Not sure which fans to get at the moment.
Radiator:
Thermochill PA120.3 (Where do you buy this at? I dont see it on dangerden's website?)
I was thinking about getting one of the new GT series but I don't want to have to clean them all the time because I live in a pretty dusty area.
Pump: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=201&products_id=4509&zenid=ec77506006796c9a7fb79d743ecd413e
Sounds like it is nice and quite, I like that. Do you guys think i will need 2?
CPU Block:
Swiftech Storm, I have one on my current computer and it works wonderfully. I think i will grab another one for this new system.
GPU Block:
uuuuuhhhh Get whatever comes out because this new card looks funky!
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2586
Chipset Block:
Meh I might not get one they seem to be a waste of tubing.
Tubing:
Already have a bunch from my previous setup.
Extra Stuff:
Shourd: https://www.dangerden.com/product.php?productid=207&cat=76&page=1
Maybe 2 of them if I try and go for a 6 fan setup.
Rad Grill:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=290&products_id=3703
This one looks nice but I am still looking for a sexier one.
Random Misc:
Clamps, Water additives, other stuff

Probably just gonna stick with a small system with just the CPU and GPU.
Cost ~$275-$300 :-/ O well it will look sweet.

Any suggestions? I need some good quite fans, a way to mount the huge rad in my case and i need to know if i am gonna need two pumps. :D :D Also any recommendations on how to get blue safe water to run through my tubes?

At the moment I am running Zerx and it is a nasty pink color but it works well. (Yes I have read all the extremely long posts on what additives to use). I just want opinions on what mix makes a good color and has all the extra algea killers and metal currosion stuff in it (Preferably). Blue FluidXP+ looks really nice but I am afraid I am gonna need to get 2 bottles and thats 70 some bucks :bang head

I know that this isn't WC related, but hold off on that 7950GTX.

Why?

Because you are buying next gen hardware and spending $620+ on a vid card that will last you for less then 6 months.

You ask why again?

Well because this is a DX9 card and it won't be compatible with DX10 so it will go to waste. My suggestion buy yourself something cheap in the meantime like 6800GS or 7600GT and save that money till Dec or so cause that's when DX10 cards will start hitting the market (R600 and G8).

why spend money? BECAUSE I AM A STUPID AMERICAN WHO LIKES TO WASTE HIS MONEY AND I AM DAMN PROUD!!! First off I don't use windows (Linux Rocks) and WTF is directx anyways ;) ;) I could wait but waiting is over rated. I also said that I am going to buy one with an HDCP chip on it and the first round of cards that comes out probably will not have this on it. They will have support but they wont have the actual chip that they need to decode the HDCP protection. Who knows when graphics cards/sound cards will ever start using that crap.

Nah, I was just being difficult above ignore all that. :D (Long Day) I was unaware that DX10 was coming out, I am not really up on windows software tech. I will definately take your suggestion in to cosideration because I do like to play games with cedega and I am sure that it will be using DX10 or newest OpenGL when they come out. So I might hold off on the graphics card for a while or get a cheaper HDCP card because I am definately gonna wanna play some BluRay/HD-DVDs on the samsung monitor. I cant wait!!

that's a 2 GPU card right? Is there any currently available way to water cool the other core?

UmHelp

i doubt it. can you even buy the cards yet? I can bet that there will be a way to cool both the cores.

Anyways how about something different than that graphics card. Like the other parts to the watercooling system.

Thermochill PA120.3
Alphacool Laing DDC-Pump 12V Ultra
Swiftech Storm
etc... see first post.

Use some high cfm Deltas (TFB1212GHE , http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12tfexhisp.html) with a rheostat.

"Threadjacking in process"

UmHelp you might want to check signature rules before a mod does I'm pretty sure it's too big.

"Now back to our regular program"

I would assemble the whole PC with a WC minded case and letr it run a month stock it will serve a dual goal, first you will get to not void your warranties for that much longer(my personal experiance is if it's gonna crap out on you (total failure) it will do so early), second it will give you the time to catch more sales on your WC stuff and there is always plenty of good stuff on the clasiffied here...

I don't really understand what you are trying to say. Are you telling me that modding the case is a bad idea? I have had 3 watercooling minded cases and I ended up hating them all stock and modding the crap out of them :D. I don't really care about my cases warrenty. Plus modding the case is the best part of building a watercooled system. It is no fun at all just putting the loop together. I also can't really see how a case could fail.

The only part in a watercooling system that I am worried about failing is the pump and I am not really modding that. Am I getting the wrong idea from your post?

Edit: After some re-reading maybe you are telling me to wait until the end of the summer/begining of the fall when all the parts are out and buy them all in one shot? Well if that is what you are talking about then I would have to say that modding a case takes some time and I have lots of time during the summer but once summer ends and school starts back up I won't really have too much time to be fooling around with it. Grad school is no joke ;).

If you want to use that videocard you cannot use an intel board since they will not run SLI at all leaving your card crippled.

Jeez that video card is causing me alot of problems. :D Forget that stupid card, I will get something different!! There it does not exist in the first post anymore. I have all summer to finalize the hardware but I want to order the watercooling parts and case ASAP so i can start cutting it up and fitting all the parts.

Dont bother cutting a thing if you do not have the parts to measure for length(s)

That is what I am trying to figure out right now but people keep talking about that stupid graphics card. I want to order the watercooling parts and case, so i can cut into it. Gotta get rolling on this :burn: the summer goes by quickly. Especially when I have to write a fully working compiler for a given language with a few specific optimization. Which has to be good since we are going to be modifying it all through out the semester. :D

If you want to use that videocard you cannot use an intel board since they will not run SLI at all leaving your card crippled.

This will probably not be true since you can already buy an SLI intel board with a NVIDIA Nforce 4 northbridge chip on it. I am sure that NVIDIA will throw something out that will support conroe and have SLI. If you mean that I cannot buy a motherboard with an Intel Chip set then you are probably right but I can probably buy a motherboard that supports SLI and Core Duo 2. Gotta wait and see.

Thats an Nforce board which is plagued with many clocking/instability issues. I am speaking strictly of *Intel* manufacturered boards such as the i975XBK and other related chipsets which cannot support SLI because nVidia wont allow it

I did say that

I never said anything about it being good it is just a counter argument to saying that you cannot run SLI with an Intel CPU.

FORGET THAT STUPID VIDEO CARD AND THE HARDWARE!!!! :bang head :bang head I ONLY WANT TO FIGURE OUT WHAT COOLING IM GONNA BUY!!!

How about these fans instead of the 30 dollars ones:

Just to let you guys know:

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2739

So there will be SLI support when the new Intel chips come out. :D

Watercooling update:
I just bought my Samsung 244t monitor :D and some tube clamps from mcmaster. I decided to go all out on this computer and I bought a Iwaki MD-20RZ. I can't seem to find any Thermochil 120.3's instock anywhere. :-/ So i am going to hold off on that and the Swiftech storm for now.
