didnt u install mandrake 8.1?? ive always used Xmms, never had a problem with it. you can get tons of skins and other crap for it too. shouldve installed automatically. mine, under kde, is in multimedia->sounds->xmms.

Did i mention that i just installed the OS tonight? :D I cant find a kde directory?? but Im pretty sure i installed it (If it was in the Multimedia program group)
I'm sure its somewhere in the KDE menus, probably under multimedia.
If you don't find it, open a terminal, type xmms, and hit enter.
XMMS is what I use. The GUI is a Winamp clone. It can even use Winamp skins. The tech underneath is genuinely different, though.

type man ln at a command prompt. or right click on a file in the gui and there should be an option to make a shortcut.
