winbond bh-5 weer the hot chips back then. tons of manufactures used em. fer a while it seemed EVERYONE was using em.
mushkin pc3500 lvlII blacks were rockin
twinmos pc3200 plain jains were rockin
corsair had a rev. 1.1 iirc of some 3200 that was real nice
buffalo had a 3500 set that were good too.
kingston pc3000

all were BH-5. there were alot of other smaller/noname companies using the winbond chips as well.

I believe it was the mushkins that were actually running up to 270+. Make sure when you look for ram chips, you get single sided ram. They are the 256mb sticks. OCZ and EB rev2 ram I think that was 512mb/stick and single sided that rocked the world, also

am I better off by buying the 3500 or 4000 chips and for how much is a good price to get let's say 512 or 1024mb?

3500 since they usually have better latencies.
price: ~$80 for a gig of it

Do u think these memories are way to expensive for the buy it now price?

Are these single sided? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227064
how about this ones:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146890
I want memories that will do 2-2-2-5 at at least 230fsb.

Double Data Rate(DDR): DDR SDRAM sends and receives data twice as often as common SDRAM.All that memory is dual-channel, so try to buy matched pairs versus two seperate sticks...you'll have much better success overclocking matched pairs...that's why the sigle sticks are often cheaper that matched pairs of the same size(example one512MB stick may cost less than a pair of matched 256mb sticks). Here is better RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227056) to consider from OCZ, and for $2 less after MIR).
The RAM in the auction:
I'd say its a decent price for those modules.Mushkin Redline modules are very good! You can get Patriot RAM to run just as well, and for cheaper.Stay away for the Patriot 2-3-2-5, though.I would definately consider Patriot RAM-Its cheaper, with low latency and low voltage.
I believe the Patriot TCCD RAM OC's it better than most, and arguably better than all listed in this thread. You cyuld get the PC3200 (2-2-2-5@2.6v to PC4200=3-4-4-8@2.8v) and push it over 300mhz...at least mine went up to 3x313mhz.The low-latency, low-voltage of the Patriot RAM makes it an awesome overclocker! I'm surprised nobody mentioned it so far.
PS- I'd go for PC3200 RAM.It's my opinion that anything fatser than PC3200 is just PC3200 RAM thats factory overclocked. You can get good PC3200 RAM and do the same overclocking the manufacturer does, and save money in the process.DDR pretty much stops at PC3200, IMHO.

175$ for 1GIG?? I don't think so.
BTW I also have one of these memories that u saw on ebay, 1x512 but everytime I OC to 220fsb my pc tend to crash so I keep it at 200 2.9v all the time. that's on my lp ultrab

oh, i meant the beginning price. the buy it now isn't a good deal, no. you can go over 2.9v with BH-5 with no problems. i think your board will go to 3.3v

is it normal that I can't do 220 stable on my lp or it can happen?
I have enhanced mushkin lvl2 512x1MB and CPU 2400 mobile.

it sounds very unlikely that you can't do 220 on a LP. you should be doing 220 in your sleep on that.
what are your temps and voltages for everything? cpu-z screenshots would be helpful also :)

Oops...I thought that was for 2GB.Yeah, I would'nt pay more than $135 for a gig of Redline thats been used---even better reason to consider the Patriot RAM!!!
