I am taking on the challenge of building a case. I have some wood left over from a bookshelf that was on a wall. I also have a computer desk, I attached a picture of it.

I measured the amount of room I have to play with: 21"Hx8 1/2"Wx17 1/2"D.

I was thinking of using the boards I have for the "frame", the front, back, top and bottom and then for the sides using some kind of plywood and sheet.. maybe even lexan or something... although I don't realy like windows. I am going to be painting it black so the wood look isn't going to show much. For the bottom part of the front i'm going to paint some kind of screen black, something like Ghettocomp's "Modders mesh". Behind this im thinking of putting 2 120mm fans. I'm going to try and draw up a sketch, either by comp or hand.

Anyone have some tips or suggestions for me?

P.S. I'm not a 'flashy' kind of person wanting some "bling-bling". I do not like windows, I do not like led's, I do not like cold cathodes, I do not like green eggs and ham. JackNSally I am.:)

If you have any specific questions I have answers. If you want a good free program for designing assemblies or parts in detail I recommend http://www.alibre.com/xpress/

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=450114 heres another wood case mod that i did, for the siding i used velcro to attach the window and the side of the case for easy access and i used a router to get little slats so i could take off each side of the case.
