for somebody who has been overclocking i feel really shy to ask.....What is the Default Voltage of the Athlon XP 1600+ ? for some reason i'm having alot of problems all of a sudden. Windows XP is not suppose to have a blue screen but i'm getting it alot lately and i know it is not due to software. appart from that...if i run 3D Mark 2001 benchmark and within 2 minutes or less it just stops and shows my desktop.......what does that mean. i'm having a **** load of problems all of a sudden which is ****ing me off. thanx a bunch.
1.75, drop your overclock and see if your problems go away.
Run default speed under 3Dmark and see what happens. 3Dmark is extremely sensitive to cpu and memory problems. I've had systems that were overclocked and ran everything else fine -prime95, seti, quake, etc. but 3dmark would crash it or quit to the desktop as you're describing. Narrow down your source of trouble by running at default speeds first.

well, i'm currently runing everything at default. still it won't work too well. wonder if anybody got a dark blue screen before. it has alot of writing on it and afterwhich it reboots on it's own. the reboot is controlled by windows which i manage to disable but i still get the blue screen. well, i'm going to format my PC once more and let it run only with office and some normal programs. hopefully it is cause by software. i'm so tired of opening up my PC. also, i guess that much that the chip runs at 1.75v but why is it not stable even on default FSB?

You're not the only one experiencing these problems, same here with Iwill and Epox using Kt133A chipset. I have my new AXP1800 put away more than a month now and the latest bios from Iwill didn't solve anything. I don't know if the problems can fully be fix from bios update, so I'm just gonna get a new ddr mobo. You should contact Asus and check if there's any new bios update that can fix this. You can also look for answers in the Asus motherboard section at amdmb.com. one more thing if you want to run in windows, lower the voltage to about 1.60V.

wow!!! 1.6v is too little right? i was told that the default is 1.75v and i'm not running it at default voltage and FSB. i also heard that sometimes using the jumper is more stable so i'm now in my 5th minute after switching to jumper mode. i've tried Asus site and already using the lastest BIOS but it does not seem to help.....at all. well, i guess i can give it a try at 1.6v as i'm really trying everything to get this system stable. i'm about to burn an audio CD while surfing the internet and listening to MP3. i also have photoshop and illustrator running in the background. what is the worse that can happen? i waste 1 blank CD......i'll give it a shot anyway :) thanx for your reply Nowis and do keep in touch as i would like to know how to solve this problem.......blue screen of death :(
Scann69, I don't know if you know this yet but only the A7V133 Rev 1.05. and up with Bios 1007... will work fine with Athlon XP. I think Asus is gonna leave thing like as is. This way more people will have to get their A7V266-E motherboard. Even if you get your PC stable, overclocking could be out of question. can you run 3dmark2001 benchmark alright without crashing? If you can, then you're doing alot better than many of us.
