i just got my new 1900XT and i get alot of 30fps while playing counterstrike source, before i had a 7800Gt and NEVER had a problem with low framerates it would always bounce around 60fps what gives?

You uninstall the old video drivers and use Driver Cleaner in Safe Mode?

Sure it's not a 33tick server you're playing on?

i figured it out, with my 7800gt it would only let me choose 8x AA with the 1900 it does 16x AA and i also turned on the ati-adaptive option thing, but back to 8x it runs super fast..

lol, 16x is rediculous, you cant even notice that quality.

16xAA is a supersampling AA mode 8x (*2) used with crossfire. 8xAA is extremely high. You need to use 6xAA and 16xAF (perhaps you mixed them up?) AAA won't make a performance decrease that large, that's the point of it. If you run 6xAA, 16xAF, and AAA you should easily have 100 fps in CS:S with high on everything. It's what I run with full HDR, 1280x1024 and my fps are fine.

I run 6x AA 16x AF on my X1800xt, and I usually get near 100fps at 2048x1536. Turn the AA down, I doubt you'll notice a difference above 6x, or even 4x.
