stupid power surge fryed my monitor :(
the lights flickered and then a blue flame shot out the top of my monitor, lol it was cool to watch but that was a $190, 5 sec fireworks show :mad:
oh well, good thing i put down $70 for a good surge protector. hehe now i get a new monitor courtesy of Kingston :)

i had to haul my crappy 17" generic monitor out of the closet, i thought i was rid of this thing for good, oh well.
Note: only 2 of the 3 color guns on the monitor actually work lol

oh well off to rma this thing and claim my money, hehe.

Yea I've read that if you want insurance for your computer then get a surge protector.

Heh 30k insurance? Monitor must have cost you what? 25k? Hint hint. It's one of them super duper monitors. Yeah that's the ticket.

Actually I wouldn't doubt if you never got anything out of the surge protector people. They'll do whatever they can to make sure they don't have to pay. Supposedly they are supposed to come check everything out themselves and make sure everything was perfect. Your best bet would be to just send the monitor back to the manufacturer if it was under warranty.

You are supposed to get a free new surge protector though if it's been tripped.
