is there any sort of upgrade of cooling for the CPU on a notebook? (i have a dv1000) I don't mind soo much about the noise, just the cooler the better, and if i ever discover how to overclock it, the extra cooling will work. So is there anything avialable for notebooks? like upgraded Heatsinks or fans?

unfortunatelly aftermarket cpu heatsyncs just plain don't exist... although there are mods that you can do to your current cooling setup to improve peformance. you can line the gaps of the heatpipes with artic silver where they connect to the heatsync (see link in my sig), you can also try applying artic silver to the cpu but recently a few people have actually experienced increased temps... you can get a fan control program to regulate your fan speeds better.

Simply elevating your notebook off of the table just a couple of cm can reduce temps by 3-7c on notebooks that suck in air from the bottom. you can do this with bottlecaps, legos, whatever is sturdy and raise your laptop up a lil bit.

you can also get a laptop cooler pad which if you get a good one can help out alot. I built my own custom ghetto looking cooler pad out of styrofoam and a 80mm Tornado...

Well my dv1000 came with the 12cell batterypack so it already is nicely eleveated and does a goodjob on airflow. Kinda dissapointing on no CPU coolers, what about faster speed fans? like I said the noise dosent bother me too much and with the 12cell battery and a software fan controller i should be fine in that department too.
