just buy an 1800+, unlock, set multiplier to 12.5....instant 2000+.. this is my plan. Im not sure who it is, but some one has in their sig "Dont buy the best, buy the second best and make it the best", im definitely a subscriber to this belief.:cool:

I must say I'd like to have a 2000+ as well. If there is any way to get one before christmas, money os not an object ;)

I don't know, at first we were expecting 1.73Ghz before Christmas and now you guys are settleing for a XP2000+, 1.67Ghz. Unless, you can overclock an Athlon XP 1.67GHz to 2.0GHz+, I am not impressed. I would wait till the Athlon XP 1900+,1.60GHz come down to under $200 and then overclock it to 1.73-1.80GHz+.

wow such a great idea.... i got an 1800+..... it's unlocked...... too bad it can't run at 12.5x..... the max it can hit is 1632..... good luck to you.

What??? do you have an unlocked XP? this the first person i heard with an unlocked one

R U sure U got it unlocked-most people that have them can get at least 1702 out of them locked with just a FSB increase. Just curious as how you unlocked it or did it come unlocked. have you done any voltage changes in the bios yet? just curious.

yes i have an unlocked xp... i used clear nail polish and a conductive pen. haven't u read all the articles on unlocking it??

yes i'm sure its unlocked, as i said above i used clear nail polish and a conductive pen... the weather finally got cooler here (lol 65 degrees... damn texas) and i was finally able to hit 1672 at 12.5x... been running toast for about 9 1/2 hours so i think it's safe to call it stable...
