I currently have comcast cable, a Toshiba PCX1100U cable modem and a Netgear WGT634U wireless router. The Toshiba is dropping cable, then picking it back up pretty frequently. According to comcast the signal is steady & strong. I've had the modem since 2002. The router is starting to lock up too, requiring a power cycle to get it going again. It's been updated to the latest firmware, which hasn't helped at all. I figured I'd replace both pieces & hopefully get a better connection.
Anyone have any recommendations for a reliable cable modem? How about a reliable wireless router? I've had 2 wireless netgears in the past 3 yrs. Both died/dieing similar deaths.
Anyone familiar with a wireless gateway modem such as the Linsys WCG200? It's an all-in-one solution.
Thx
