well i just got my new cat6 patch cable in... 2 50ft and 1 25ft. Anyways with my current setup EVERY pc has either gigabit nic or onboard gigabit and my router is a gigabit wireless g router.

anyways when i hooked it all up, ran the network setup wizard which i always do.. why is it that im getting slower speeds on speed test than my cat5e cable?

EDIT* problem fixed, had some firewall issues :)

but i still have the speed problem.

Could you post the brand and model of your router?

Does it say it's connected at 1000Mbps? Is the firmware up to date?

firmware is latest, all 3 pc's are linked at 1GBS but yet i still get only 8500mps compared to 11500mps on speed tests before i switched from cat5e :) i mean i shouldnt be complaining, i just wanna know why it dropped to 8500 instead of staying at 11500...
