Just built a new system with this board. Bios is 0606.
I am using PNY Vertigo DDR2-800 2x512Mb for a total of 1 gig.
When system boots up says that the ram is 1024 but single channel and it's recognizing it as PC2-4300.
What do I have to change in the BIOS for it be recognized properly?

It recognizes my CPU, P Dual Core 950, just fine.

Thanks.

it tells you what "pc" speed it's at based on what it's set at, not what it's rated at. you would want to change the divider to ddr:800 to get it at it's rated speed. this would set your divider at 1:2.

Ok found the spot in the BIOS that configures the ram at PC-6400, but it still says that it is single channel.
There is nothing in the book, that I have found about making it dual channel. Does anyone have experience with this board that can enlighten me?

Thanks.

Oops, nevermind. Been a while since I built a system. Didnt realize that Dual Channel meant that all 4 slots had to be filled. Now just need to order another set of chips.....
Thanks for your help CrimeDog.

STOP!
In order to run dual channel you must have a stick in slot 1 and 3. These are the yellow slots on your board. Slot 2 & 4 also work in dual channel. There is no need to order more memory!

Thanks Ranger, I realize that now. I already had plans to add another gig to my new rig for a total of 2 gigs of ram. Either way it works out in the end.

Thanks for the information.

STOP!

With 2 sticks of RAM you can OC much higher then with 4 sticks of RAM. Return 2 sticks that you have now or sell it, and get 2 sticks that are 1gig each.
