dll files (dynamic link library) are files used by windows and other
programs I would not delete those files or you can find a problem
when trying to run a certain program.

In my newbie days, I couldn't understand why there were two copies of the some of the same .dll's so I deleted the "extra" ones. Tsk, tsk. Go ahead and delete the "extras" if you're prepared to reformat your HDD and reinstall the OS!

There are progs that will find duplicate .dll's for you, and even tell if if they are no longer needed. Use at your own risk.

.dll's may be used by many programs, including Windows. If you delete one it could cause you to have to reinstall everything. Let Add/Remove or the program's uninstall do it. You can get a program like CleanSweep that will safely delete orphened files and folders. I think .dll's are the worst thing I've found to delete without help. There are sites where you can download missing .dll's but they never seem to have the one I need.

gezzz dll files seems to be very important now
well actually my pc seems to be quite unstable after
i had delete the folder "common files"
especially "IE" crashes a lot of times
but not sure if it's due to deleteing the dll files

what about win386.xxx (can't remember)
i saw from a article that says the file can be savely delete
and i found out that the files is about 72mb (the website claim the file is 100+mb)
but i failed to delete it underwindow
but i am sure i can do it in dos
do you think i should delete it?

Well.... WIN386.SWP is your swap file.... I wouldn't go around deleting that.... Just change the size to what's needed, and make it permanant instead of dynamic.
