Hello all -

Yes I am new to this forum, but as an avid OC-er I have much experience in my OCing adventures. But I am in desperate need for a hopeful question.

I have had two AMD XPs. A 1500 and a 1900. I have followed the Bridging guides to the letter, but seemingly I have blown both CPUs. I would be careful as to not get any rear window deffoger paint onto any other bridges except for the L1s and to fill in the pits with a super-glue. But it may seem that the 3M super glue gel I have been using may be conductive.

Since I am very disheartened right now, I am looking for a place that sells Unlocked Xps from their site and/or store that has been tested out and works. Having a vapochill and only a locked T-bird 1000 would be a shame...

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

WELCOME

Okay first sorry about losing two XPs, ouch!!! Don't use that glue. I haven't done it let but I think I am going to use nail polish and conductive paint. that seems to be the easiest method. let the nail polish. Also you could put tape over the trenches and then lay the defogger repair on top of the tape that way if something goes wrong you can try and RMA the chip. the is probably what I will try and do.

You seem serious so why not have a pro solder them should cost less than 10bucks or so for a real pro to do it.

Where can I find one of these pros to unlock my cpu? Would anyone who knows what they are doing be willing to do it for a small fee? Thanks for any feedback.

Don't them techs at Best Buy know how solder good, I would take it there;) J/K

Never really thought about it before, but how about a jewelry shop? They deal with delicate mounting/soldering small crap all day. They could probably make some nice silver or platinum bridges for you.

Wonder what the look on their face will be when you hand them a CPU instead of a ring and ask them to solder the L1 bridges:)

Maybe consider buying a MP cpu? They are supposed to be all unlocked.

Well anybody who builds computers should be able to do this np. ask at the shack and they can recommend a repair shop that would do this or maybe one of them could do it. any friends taht are EE should be able to handle the job too.
