Well I was swapping out HDD and this happened:
I get a message saying ntoskrnl is missing or corrupted when booting. This happens before the windows splash screen. Now I googled that filename and it has to do with the boot.ini file and suh. Someone please help me!

A few things it could be...once you changed the drive(particularly if it was your boot drive), you won't normally be able to boot the same way. It can also be that whatever drive you are using is bad, or you might need a new cable.
Best bet, unless the drive you were swapping out is completely shot, is to put that one back and use WXP for a transfer. If that 's not possible, do a reinstall.

Boot off your Windows XP Cd-rom. Follow the text-mode directioins and go into the Recovery Console. Once you're in there, go to the Cd-rom drive and proceed to the i386 folder on your Cd-rom. Once you're in your cd-rom's i386 folder, type the following expand ntkrnlmp.ex_ C:\Windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe. Change the C:\ if your windows installation is on another partition. This should fix it for you.
