Hey, posting on my main cause my secondary is having... issues...

I slapped together parts from two old rigs to make one functioning rig. (I've done this before and it worked perfectly)

Now I get some random errors but the MAIN problem is the video. I've re-installed XP 3 times and each time I get stuck in 4-bit color, stuck on the same resolution of 640x480, with NO luck of finding ANY video card drivers for it. Can anyone point me in a direction for a non-hardware specific driver? I don't care if it sucks, it just needs to do 32-bit and at LEAST 800x600 res.

The specs on this computer are:
Celeron Processor
256 mb of pc2100 ram
mobo with onboard video

nothing to special here, just looking to make the computer run and surf the net.

Got any idea what mobo(manufacturer/model) is in the rig? If you can find that out, you can usually find the appropriate drivers at the boards site.

oldversion.com has Everest Home Edition still up and running. Lavalys stopped supporting the home edition. Get that program ,and it can tell you specs :D

Thank you. I'll get the hardware specifications and post ASAP. I think I might be able to figure it out from there if I do get the hardware specifications, the thing was that it's a temporary set-up and the mobo on it is already dying, hell the sound port is fried. rofl
