Just picked one of these up for a friend who has an old 100MHZ chipset. It is oem'd and arrived in a static free bag with no info. Does anyone have any experience with this chip or know what the specs are. I'm hoping its not a Tualatin.

No, it's not a Tualatin. if it has the 11x, it is highly likely the SL5QW as u mentioned. Would work good with your friend's mobo@ 100mhz rated chipset and can always OC a little if the mobo isn't designed for insane level of OC. :)

not really, you can run a cpu from a PII233-a 1.4PIIITualatin (with slockets) on almost any bx or Via Appollo Pro mobo.....only with the p4 are people screwed.....but amd has done the same thing with the Xp, many people were forced to go out and get new mobos because theirs didnt support it.....

Interesting... I stand corrected.

But is there really a Slocket that accepts the Tualatin? I thought it had extra pins.

Yeah dude, there is a slocket for it but it sucks so far and you wouldn't want to use it if you had a extra $50 laying around anyway. I can't get into the powerleap forums anymore anyway to find out how every ones adapter is doing. I told them when I hit 1600MHz with my chip I will be bqack to tell them. Since they deleted my account or something. I think they are shi# heads. They knew how crappy of a item they were producing so they canceled all the members that were saying if it would allow the BX to hit 1.6GHz then it would be great. Well low and behold it doesn't. They are rippoff artists cause one could have gotten a slocket and bought a 1000e/1100e and hit at least that same amount if not more with a BX. I was leary cause their forums went down about the same time their adapters went on sale. I would bet they are not doing well.

I'm running this one currently at 1331 (121 FSB) at 1.95V. radadman has POSTed his at 1466, I think. Check the threads that are a few days old for his posts. SL5QW in the title. He's the lead dog in this race. :)
