View Full Version : Anyone used FarCry Patch 1.4 (HDR+FSAA)?

Does it have any issues?
Was hoping to be able to run max HDR with at least 4x-6x AA, would be quite taxing, but I think it can do it ;)

Wonder if this will run good on the 7800GT (2xQ) in my other rig? (P4 S478 3.2E/DFI LP 875P/1GB PC4000).... I like to LAN game with equal detail settings :)

I'm still on the older one, but I used registry tweak and have 4xAA with 9HDR running fine.

Do not use the leaked 1.4 beta patch!
It is buggy and not supported by Crytek or UBIsoft.

I am a forum moderator on the UBI Far Cry forums and I see lots of problems with this patch. Stick with 1.33 and wait for the official 1.4.

um isn't that a half life 2 screenshot with it? whats that showing off exactly?

and im shocked anyone would leap into a crytek patch :)

Oh, i see it's an Nvidia thing...ATI's can do HDR and AA but Nvidia's cannot

I have 6800GS's in SLI, so it's not nVidia.

SM3 is a new thing to ATI, not other way around.

Yeah....from everything I've read, Nvidia cards cannot do HDR and AA at the same time...only one or the other.
I've read that even if the game's settings allow you to select both, one of them will be disabled.

You just need to edit the registry and it works just fine.

I installed this patch. The good side about this patch is it makes the graphics sweet (HDR effects). The bad side is this patch is like a cheat patch as well. Unlimited ammo and it makes your life unlimited too. No matter what difficulty.

i use the patch on 2 installs of the game, first time it seemed fine, second time i noticed I never have to reload or use any amo lmao....

Yep, the site I downloaded the patch from (www.guru.3d.com) said that this patch works for ATI's and Nvidia's.
I wish I wouldv'e read this all before installing the darn thing! :bang head:
Haven't tried playing yet... oh well, looks like I'll probably be re-installing FarCry tonight ;)

Also, how come FSAA+HDR can work for Nvidia's in this game but not in others?
