I just bought a bunch of stuff which included a Radeon VE 32 Mb DDR vid card. Haven't had any experience beyond nVidia. From anyone's personal experience will I be happy with this?? Any oddities with ATI ??

The VE does not have hardware T&L and for gaming will be worse than your mx......should be like a TNT2.......but the 2D and DVD and Dual Monitor support should be awesome (oh yes the gaming on this card is better than any comparable dual monitor nvidia card)....

Sounds like it'll make a fine back-up card :D

Best bet would have been Radeon 32 DDR LE version, then pewrforma a minor hack and you have a regular Radeon 32 DDR minus TV out I believe and dual monitor support.
Ask ZuckGou:) about the hack

Return it and get the Radeon 32ddr LE.

No, this was bought used, in a bundle. What I was actually buying is an Athlon 1.4, K7VDragon(not plus) and 256 PC2400. The Radeon was thrown in as an incidental.
I'm an nVidiot :D If I bought new it would prolly be a GeF III.

Well I do alot of video work and the radeon ve was great, its overlay works real good it programmable resolutions are pretty awesome to, I was disappointed with games. But going from 550Mhz celeron agp2x, to agp 4x 1Ghz Athlon 266 ddr its actually plays just fine, you just need atleast 1ghz. Also running dvd's to the tv is another plus. I bought the VE 6mths ago to wait for the Radeon7500/8500 come down to what I can afford, it will go into the living room for straight htpc.
