Has anyone tried the hammered finsh paint yet? I just did my case with it and it is not a bad textured finish. Will post some pics when I get home early enough to get some good outside light. I had read some on it and it seems to stand up to the claims ie: chip resistant, durable. It really adds a nice texture to the finish and covers small imperfections such as deep scratches. Anyhow, just a suggestion and you might be surprised at the results! I only used 200 grit wet sanding paper and left the original finish(albeit smoothed) for primer.

Ok, here's a quick pic. Still got some detailing to do but you can get the general idea about the hammered finish paint maybe.

When you put it on the amount of texturing you see when you spray it is how it dries. It doesn't "lay down" after spraying but stays just like you spray it. They got lots of neat colors in this stuff too.

Where'd you buy it at? I've hunted through the local walmart and Lowe's paint section and haven't been able to find it. I used Krylon paint to do my case last time and I'm not happy with the way it finished so I'm looking for a different brand of paint this time around. Suggestions would be appreciated. I'm going for the somewhat over done flat black look.

You in Auburn? Alabama is whooping their butt tonite! I got it at Home Depot. They have several colors and it works great. Roll Tide!

Yeah, Auburn definatley didn't show up to play tonight. I'm not a huge fan but the rest of the staff here at the hospital is pretty dissapointed....at least we won't have to worry about drunken celebration parties in town.

btw thanks for the info.

I went to UAB. I am originally from Birmingham. I know what it is like when Alabama and Auburn play! Good luck on the paint, I am sure you got a Home Depot in Auburn.:burn:

Home Depot is everywhere! Kinda like Tim Hortons' in Canada. ^_^

I just used some 220 grit to scuff the old finish somewhat and used the old paint for the primer. Long term you may get some chipping as the paint can't grab the old paint. I scuffed the plastic parts too, including the cd covers. This stuff doesn't require a really smooth undercoat and fills in a rough sanding job pretty well.
